Anne Roche was born in Dublin. She grew up in the town of Tralee,on the
south west coast of Ireland, where she now lives.  She began writing songs
in her early twenties. "Many of my songs were ways of dealing with
difficult experiences. Pulling out my guitar and writing a song always made
me feel better when life was tough."  Anne is an admirer of folk music and
"good country music", but her songs contain certain influences also.
Meeting her fiancé has led to her writing songs that are upbeat and positive
but are still "as classically simple and true and deep as I can make them."
